A MAN was left suffering from a head injury after he was allegedly struck with a hammer following a neighbourhood dispute.
Police were called to London Fields in Billinge at about 9pm on June 3 as paramedics tended to the 50-year-old victim. He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
A 56-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and bailed pending further inquiries.
A police spokesman said officers found the victim in the street with a laceration to his head when they arrived at the scene.
