Sections of the M6 between junction 19 at Knutsford and junction 20 for Lymm Services will be closed overnight for two nights this week as Highways England removes road works from its £14.5 million safety and repairs scheme.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between 10pm and 5am tonight (Wednesday) and the southbound carriageway will be closed on Saturday night (July 9) from 10pm to 6am.

Actual closure times are subject to traffic flows reducing sufficiently.

A clearly signed diversion between the two junctions will be in place on both nights.

Drivers are advised to check traffic conditions before setting out on journeys. Highways England provides live traffic information via its website www.trafficengland.com, local and national radio travel bulletins, electronic road signs and mobile apps.

Information is also available from Twitter via @highwaysNWEST as well as services in other regions.

Providing they can do so safely, road users can also call the Highways England customer contact centre on 0300 123 5000 to keep up to date with road conditions.
