ST Helens glamour model Louise Glover is embarking on a new career – after suffering a heart attack.

After spending her 20s working as a glamour girl, Louise Glover is now flexing a very different sort of asset as bodybuilding and fitness model.

The 29-year-old’s new path in life came after battling a life threatening illness.

Two years ago she was diagnosed with septicaemia which caused her to suffer a heart attack.

During her long recovery she suffered from depression and lost around two stone in weight.

“I’ve had an absolute nightmare going through it all,” said Louise. “I almost died and it really made me think about what I want to do with my life.”

During her two year recovery, Louise joined the gym to get her health back and has decided to carve a new career.

She has just been taken on by Europe’s biggest sports and fitness model agency and is on Reebok Billboards across the county.

Louise, who grew up in Sutton, recently entered a beauty pageant called Miss American Dream, a Donald Trump event, winning first place and is now set to jet out to the Bahamas at the end of this month to represent Europe in the World Finals.

She added: “I only entered the competition to build my confidence back, I really didn’t expect to win it. I’m over the moon with excitement.”

Louise, who has recently completed a fitness course and wants to set up her own fitness camps, believes her set backs have only made her more determined to succeed.

“Throughout my life, I’ve had to learn to deal with knock backs – it has been a huge part of the industry I’ve been in,” she said

“But I genuinely believe that every thing I have experienced, both positive and negative, has put me in the direction I’m going and I now understand that everything happens for a reason!

“I’m really looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

“I’m positive, focused and ready to take on the world.”
