Is this Britain’s manliest man?

Kristian Austin, 22, has won a place in the top 40 of a competition to find the model with the most machismo.

The eventual winner will become an ambassador for the Orchid cancer charity and be given the brief of helping raise awareness of testicular and other male-related cancers.

Former Newton High pupil Kristian was selected for the contest, organised by male grooming firm Bluebeards Revenge, from 1,500 applicants.

He said: “I would love to be an ambassador for Orchid as it is a great cause.

“There have been a massive amount of people who have testicular cancer so it is important to raise awareness of the illness and what signs to look out for.”

Kristian, from Newton, started working as a model shortly after leaving school.

He has gone on to work for brands including Debenhams, Toni & Guy and most recently featured alongside Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in a television shampoo advert.

A spokesman for Bluebeards Revenge said: “The Bluebeards Revenge has teamed up with the charity for the campaign, in an urgent bid to persuade men of all ages to Man Up and Check for the early signs of testicular cancer.

“Many guys are still burying their heads in the sand with regards to this very important issue, but with an overall cure rate of 96 per cent the disease is highly treatable.”
