Inquest opens into death of tragic teen

Schoolboy Terry Hall was found dead in a park just hours after taking his beloved dog for a walk, the opening of an inquest heard.

The tragic youngster was found in an “unresponsive condition” by a passer-by in Stadt Moers Park, Whiston, on January 29 - his 13th birthday.

St Helens coroners officer Kevin Farrell told an inquest hearing that due to inclement weather and the fact it was his birthday, the teen was off school.

He had left his home on Skipton Road, Huyton, just before 10am with his pet dog. He was later found just before 1pm.

Paramedics tried to revive the boy, but he was pronounced dead shortly before 1.30pm.

No official cause of death has yet been released.

The inquest was opened and adjourned and a provisional date for the full inquest hearing set for May 11.
