A hospice has launched an urgent appeal for 100 new volunteers.
As part of national Volunteers Week, Willowbrook Hospice has launched its ‘Put U in VolUnteering’ campaign and is looking for people to help at the charity’s 12 shops throughout St Helens and Knowsley.
Each month, volunteers contribute about 6,500 hours of their time at Willowbrook Hospice’s shops, but some are only half staffed.
Willowbrook Volunteer Co-ordinator, Ian Turnbull said: “Volunteers often describe their shop teams as a family unit, offering them a great way to use their skills, allowing them to give something back to their local community.
“We would love more volunteers to join our retail team to raise funds so that we can continue to provide our special care for more local people and their families during what is often the most difficult time of their lives.”
To launch the appeal, the hospice is holding the volunteer recruitment day on Friday 10 June (11am – 2pm) at the Willowbrook – Living Well building on Borough Road, St Helens.
