Home Bargains is investing £500,000 in a new store in Newton-le-Willows.

The company, which is one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, is creating up to 50 new jobs in the community with its latest store, located on Haydock Street.

This will be the first Home Bargains store to open in Newton-le-Willows, joining over 400 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Newton-le-Willows and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors.”

The 10,500 sq ft unit, which is a former Netto store, will offer Newton-le-Willows shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks.

Joe added: “Haydock Street will be a great location for us and we’re pleased to be a new addition to the local business community.

“We’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than 3.5 million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top-quality branded goods at low prices.

The store will be officially opened on Saturday 21 November 2015. The event will feature a special appearance from Anna and Elsa – stars of popular Disney film, Frozen – between 11am and 1pm.
