A VICIOUS armed robbery who is targeting pie shops in St Helens has struck again.

Just before 8am on Friday (June 17) an offender wielding a hammer confronted two staff members and a delivery man at the Waterfields shop on Higher Parr Street, Fingerpost.

The robber, a white man in his 20s, was wearing a heavy duty high-visibility jacket, a baseball cap, and white trainers.

He demanded that staff open the safe before locking them in a back room and escaping in a car.

Nobody was hurt.

Amazingly, this was the sixth carbon-copy robbery carried out by a hammer-wielding robber at Waterfields shops in the last month.

The apparently targeted robbery spree started on May 19 at the Waterfields in Peckers Hill Road, Sutton.

Since then, Waterfields shops in Clock Face, Whiston, Rainhill and Liverpool have also been targeted.
