Members of St Helens’ self-harm support group are celebrating after the group was awarded charitable status.

No Secrets, which was co-founded by Dentons Green resident Kerri Jones in 2007, are now looking forward to embracing the “world of opportunity” registration has opened up to them.

“It’s been a mammoth 12-month team effort and we could not have achieved it without the fantastic support of Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action,” said Kerri.

No Secrets patron Simon Barber, the chief executive of the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We could not be prouder or more delighted that they have built on these early successes and taken their organisation to a whole new level.”

The St Helens branch of No Secrets meets every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm at the Millennium Drop-in Lounge on Bickerstaffe Street.
