THIS 43-year-old crook has been banned from canvassing door-to-door anywhere in St Helens.

Paul Harden, of Agnes Road, Clock Face, was given a criminal ASBO stopping him bothering residents.

Police acted after concerns the balding conman was targeting pensioners in the borough by talking them into paying for gardening work.

After handing over cash, he either disappeared without doing the job or completed the work to a shoddy standard.

JPs gave Harden a two-year order following a hearing on September 13 which heard police evidence detailing his activities.

Chief Insp Keith McLachlan said: “The public need to be aware of Mr Harden’s behaviour, particularly as he seems to have targeted very vulnerable members of society.

“My officers work closely St Helens Council and housing associations to secure this CRASBO. His order should also send out a warning to others that such behaviour is not acceptable.”
