A FUGITIVE who escaped from prison last year is now wanted over a burglary in St Helens.

Convicted drug dealer Wayne Michael Jackson, 29, absconded from HMP Kirkham in Lancashire in March last year.

He was part way through a six-and-a-half year prison sentence for importing Class A drugs at the time.

Now Merseyside Police has made a renewed appeal to the public to help trace him.

Detectives want to speak with him in connection with a burglary at an address in St Helens Road, Rainford, on February 24 this year.

Police in Hampshire also want to speak to Jackson about a burglary in Southampton, which happened on March 23 last year.

He is known to visit St Helens as well as Liverpool and Halewood and police believe Jackson now has longer hair than is shown in this picture.

He is described as a white, around 6ft 3in tall, of medium build with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives on 0151 777 6843 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
