Police have launched dawn raids on addresses across St Helens as part of a crackdown on burglaries and car crime.
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Warrants were executed at home in St Helens, Liverpool and Knowsley and were the culmination of an 18 month investigation in burglaries across Merseyside.
All four men being held have been taken to police stations across Merseyside for questioning.
Following searches at the raided addresses, police have recovered 10 vehicles which they believe were stolen.
Supt Chris Markey, said: “Merseyside Police recognises the impact burglaries have on victims and today’s action reflects our commitment to tackling the issue head on. We will not tolerate burglaries and we are well aware of the effects it can have on communities.
“I hope that today’s action reinforces our message that we will do all within our power to catch those responsible for these offences while providing reassurance to our communities that all intelligence is acted on and can result in offenders being caught.
“We urge anyone with information about these types of crimes to contact us so that we can take action against those responsible.”
