Families didn’t let the wet weather stop them attending a pirate parade.

Over a dozen children and their families coloured in and donned Captain Tuck masks before warming up with exercises and embarking on a walk around Taylor Park, led by Captain Tuck himself.

Some children even went the extra mile by dressing up as the Healthy Living mascot.

The day was rounded off with a healthy picnic to encourage children, young people and families to drink water and eat healthy foods – while park games were also played to encourage families to get 60 minutes’ activity every day.

And if you missed out, don’t worry. Two more parades will take place over the summer.

Join in the fun at Mesnes Park at ranger’s hut on Tuesday, August 16, from noon until 3pm and Victoria Park at the play are on Wednesday, August 24, from noon until 3pm.
