A St Helens estate agent admitted a charge of possession of an offensive weapon on the day he was due to stand trial.

Richard Hall, of Brooklands Estate Agents, changed his plea to guilty at Liverpool Crown Court last Thursday (May 8) following an incident in Newton-le-Willows last summer.

Hall, 40, had initially been charged with common assault and possession of an offensive weapon - a baseball bat - following an altercation with a client which started inside his work premises before spilling out onto the High Street at about 2pm on July 10 last year.

He denies the assault charge and was rearranged on it.

Hall, of Oak Tree Road, Eccleston, was released on conditional bail prior to a sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court next month.
