Bargain retail outlet TJ Hughes will open its new store in St Helens on Thursday, June 16, the company has announced.
The move is expected to create around 60 jobs and comes five years after the company shut its former site in the Hardshaw Centre.
It is believed some of the staff who previously worked at the St Helens base could be taken back on.
TJ Hughes will take over a 31,470 sq ft space in the Hardshaw Centre - the same spot it previously occupied.
It will re-open its doors on June 16.
The move is a major fillip for the town’s retail sector, with speculation popular fashion store Primark could take over the old Tyrers site.
Tyrers - once branded the Harrods of the North - closed earlier this year after over a century in the town.
