The family of Danny Fox are to stage a peaceful demonstration outside Liverpool Crown Court this morning.

Danny, of St Helens, a former bouncer and latterly a children’s care worker, died from a stab wound to the neck last September.

Leighton Holt, 21, of Stocksbrigde Village, was charged with his murder but walked free from court on Wednesday after a jury failed to reach a verdict.

The protest will start at 10.30am.

Danny’s family have also contacted St Helens South MP Marie Rimmer asking her to highlight their case in Parliament.

Mr Holt claimed he was acting in self-defence when Danny died.

Later today (Friday) a vigil in support of the family will take place in Victoria Square between 6pm and 7pm, with people asked to bring canldes and lights.
