A quantity of medication stolen from a car in St Helens could be “extremely harmful” if taken by someone who was not prescribed them by a doctor, police are warning.

The prescribed drugs were taken from the boot of a car parked on Cooper Street in Queens Park at around 5pm on Wednesday along with groceries and toys.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: “The drugs taken could be extremely harmful if taken when not prescribed to someone.

“Police advise those that have taken it to hand them in to their nearest pharmacy.”
