Drugs, £20,000 cash and designer items seized following incident in Whiston
Police have arrested two men and seized a suspected stolen bike, drugs, cash and other items following an incident in Whiston yesterday afternoon (Sunday, April 4).
At around 5pm, officers on Hall Lane stopped a man riding an electric bike, for which he could not prove ownership.
A subsequent search of the man's home address led to the discovery and seizure of more than £20,000 cash, suspected cocaine and heroin, paraphernalia, cars and designer clothing and footwear.
A 20-year-old man and a 58-year-old man, both from Cronton, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and acquire/use/possess criminal property.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Vaughan said: "Our enquiries continue and both men will be questioned. This was excellent police work by officers in the area and we'll continue to respond to all such suspicious behaviour, incidents and information we receive to target those we suspect are supplying drugs in our communities.
"Key to these results is often what people within those areas affected tell us, so if you suspect similar where you are, come forward and we will take action."
