Fire crews were called to a kitchen fire at a property in Sutton Heath.
The incident happened on Stevenage Close on Wednesday (July 27) at around 8.35pm.
A brigade spokesman said: “Two fire engines attended the scene, from St Helens Community Fire Station and Eccleston Community Fire Station.
“The incident occurred on Stevenage Close and involved a fire in the kitchen of the property.
“Crews found the fire to be out on arrival and ventilated the property.
“They carried out a Home Fire Safety Check and fitted three new smoke alarms.
“No-one was injured.
“A pan of food and a cooker hood were severely damaged by fire.
“The kitchen was moderately damaged by smoke and the remainder of the property sustained slight smoke damage.
“Crews remained at the scene for around 15 minutes.
