Council chiefs say they will take a group of travellers to court after they failed to abide by a legal papers ordering them to vacate Haresfinch Park.

Up to six caravans pitched up on Haresfinch Park on Wednesday.

But despite being served with legal papers ordering them to leave they remain on the site.

A council spokesman told the Reporter: "The group was served with legal papers yesterday (Thursday), but they have not vacated the park in the allotted time.

"The council will now take the matter to the courts."
