West Street Independent Methodist Church’s Luncheon Club restarts in the church hall between 11.45am and 12.30pm offering a three-course meal and a warm drink. The cost is £3.50 and no booking is required.

Friday, September 13

Peasley Cross United Reformed Church in Beaufort Street will be holding a rummage sale from 6.30pm. Proceeds to church funds.

Friday to Sunday, September 13-15

A festival of flowers will be held at St Anne and Blessed Dominic to mark the 40th anniversary of the church.

Saturday, September 14

The Feast of Finding the True Cost will be celebrated at 12.15pm Mass at Holy Cross followed by refreshments. There will also be a guided tour of the church at 2pm.

Sunday, September 15

Celebration Choir will be holding two concerts. The first at St Anne’s Church in Sutton from 2pm and the second at Sutton Oak Welsh Chapel in Sutton Road from 3pm.

g Sutton Oak Welsh Chapel will be holding a bric-a-brac sale to raise funds for chapel repairs between 10am and 4pm.

Monday, September 16

Holy Trinity Church in Traverse Street is holding an open day drop in centre between 11am and 1pm, then 4pm to 6pm. Anyone who lives in Fingerpost is welcome to attend to discuss ways of improving the area.

Thursday, September 19

West Street Independent Methodist Church’s Thursday Club is held weekly between 2pm and 4pm in the church hall. There will be good company, with quizzes, table games, music, entertainers, trips out and light refreshments.

* St John the Baptist Church, St John Street, Earlestown will be hosting the next meetings of its Lynk-Up Group. If you’ve lost someone close, now or in the past, and would like to call in for a cuppa and maybe a chat in a friendly atmosphere, we’ll be there from 2pm ‘till 4pm and everyone’s welcome. The Barber Shop Singers perform at St Ann’s Millennium Centre, View Road, Rainhill. Tickets priced £5 from the centre. The concert starts at 7.30pm.

St Ann’s Millennium Centre holds a table top sale between 10am and 2pm. Tables cost £5. Call 0151 to book a place.

Sunday, October 13

A service for individuals and their loved ones suffering from cancer will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Fingerpost, from 6pm. Candles and laterns will be lit in memory of loved ones.
