St John the Baptist Church in St John Street, Earlestown, will be hosting the next meetings of its LYNK-UP Group on Thursday, June 20 and Thursday, July 18. If you’ve lost someone close, now or in the past, and would like to call in for a cuppa and maybe a chat in a friendly atmosphere, there’ll be there from 2pm untill 4pm and everyone’s welcome. West Street Independent Methodist Church, Thatto Heath, is set to hold a rummage sale on Friday, June 21, at 6.30pm in the church hall. Admission 20p.
SATURDAY, JUNE 22
All Saints Church, Ellamsbridge Road, holds its summer fayre at 10.30am with stalls including a tombola, fancy goods, bric-a-brac, nearly new stall, cake stall, ice cream, strawberry teas, and raffle. Breakfast refreshments will be available. Admission costs 20p. All proceeds to church funds.
SATURDAY, JUNE 22
St James the Great Church in Haydock is holding a family fun day between 11am and 3pm on the school field in Lyme Street, Haydock. There will be lots of stalls, bouncy castle, fairground rides, donkey rides, burgers and other refreshments. There will also be a car boot sale. To book a pitch call 01942 727956 or 07934 068 496. The new regional director for Eden Manchester is set to talk at St Helens Baptist Church at 7.30pm. Ex-serviceman Billy Gilvear, whose drug use took him to the point of suicide, will talk about how he turned his life around and trained as a Baptist minister.
SUNDAY, JUNE 30
St Julie’s Church in Howards Lane, St Helens, holds a family fun day, starting at 1.30pm. There will be side shows and bouncy castles as well as other attractions.
SATURDAY, JULY 6-7
Burtonwood Art Show will be held at St Michael’s Parish Hall on Chapel Lane between 10am and 4pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be available. Around 200 pictures by 60 local artists will be on display.

St Helens Parish Church holds an informal, short worship service starting at 12.30pm. Trinity Church in Longtons Lane, Rainhill, runs a club for everyone on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 10.30am. Table Talk is designed for people to meet in pleasant and comfortable surroundings.
