WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27: Prescot Community Church in Kemble Street hosts an evening with Ian McCormack who will recount how he almost lost his life after being stung by a jellyfish and the profound effect his near-death experience had on him. The talk starts at 7pm and admission is free.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28: St Peter’s Church, Parr, will hold a coffee morning in the memorial hall, Broadoak Road, between 10am and noon.

FRIDAY, MARCH 1: Churches Together in Thatto Heath will be holding a service for the Women’s World Day of Prayer at Balmer Street Missions starting at 2.15pm. The speaker will be Dorothy Williams.

FRIDAY, MARCH 1: Peasley Cross United Reform Church will hold a rummage sale from 6.30pm.

TUESDAY, MARCH 12: Ormskirk Street United Reformed Church will hold an organ recital with a lunch from noon and a 1pm recital with Peter Kwater. Tickets priced £10.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 20, 21 AND 22: Prescot Parish Church’s parish shop opens its doors between 9.30am and 4pm (until noon on Friday) for the sale of secondhand furniture, household goods, clothes and bric-a-brac.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19: Ormskirk Street United Reformed Church will hold a lenten organ recital with a lunch from noon and a 1pm recital with Michael Wynne. Tickets priced £10.

EVERY TUESDAY: St Helens Parish Church holds an informal, short worship service that starts at 12.30pm.
