Saturday, June 18: David Morris, a former world champion whistler, along with the St Helens Youth Brass Band will be in concert as part of Christ Church Eccleston Building For the Future fund-raising. Tickets are £7 adults, £3 children, which includes a free prize draw for children and adults. The venue is St Julie’s Church on Howards Lane, Eccleston, at 7.30pm. Saturday, June 25: English Martyrs in Haydock will be holding a summer fayre on the school playground, Chapel Street, between noon and 4pm. There will be plenty of stalls, raffles, entertainment and refreshments.
Saturday, June 25: The people of St Helens are being invited to help recognise the sacrifices made by our armed forces and veterans by attending the Armed Forces Day celebrations at the war memorial in Victoria Square. The proceedings get under way with a gathering of the parade at the Hardshaw Street side of the Town Hall at 11.40 am. Thursday, June 30: A concert to raise funds for Peasley Cross United Reform Church will be held on 7.30pm at Toll Bar with Prescot URC, Freckleton Road, Tickets are priced £5 and are available by calling Helen from the church on 01744 756032.
Saturday July 2: St Mark’s, St Helens and St Thomas, Eccleston, are holding a strawberry fayre at the Gamble Hall field, Bishop Road, St Helens. St Thomas CofE Primary School and the two churches’ youth organizations are all taking part in a traditional church fete, which will take place from 2pm to 4pm.
