POLICE have released CCTV stills of nine men they would like to speak to in connection with a mass brawl outside a Prescot pub.

Officers were called to the Red Lion pub in Market Place at about 12.20am on Monday July 2.

On arrival, they found three men, all aged 28 and 29, and a 29-year-old woman with injuries that required medical treatment.

A number of other people had fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police patrols.

Four men, aged 21, 23, 23 and 28, were arrested near the scene on suspicion of assault.

The three youngest suspects have since been bailed pending further inquiries.

No further action is being taken against the 28-year-old.

Two 26-year-old men were also arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently charged with violent disorder. A number of other people have been identified and questioned by police in relation to the matter.

Acting Detective Nilsen said: “Although we have identified a number of people who were in the area at the time we are still keen to speak to the people pictured.

“We are treating this extremely seriously and urge people to help us bring the people responsible to justice.”
