West End star Carley Stenson is asking people to paws for thought to raise money for an animal charity.
The Billinge singer is one of several household names to take part in the Celebrity Paws auction to highlight the work of leading feline welfare organisation, Cats Protection.
Carley has drawn around her hand, decorated it and signed her work, which will be auctioned online on Ebay from Thursday November 20 to raise vital funds forthe charity.
And the former Hollyoaks actress is not the only celebrity to leave a paw print.
Dermot O’Leary, Strictly’s Flavia, Dame Judi Dench and stars from Downton Abbey and Emmerdale have also put pen to paper.
Carley, who has had lead roles in Legally Blonde and Shrek, said: “I have been connected to Cats Protection for quite a while and if anyone gets in touch with me to help out any animal or person who is less fortunate I will always try and support them.
“I thought the paw print was a really cute idea and I am so passionate about animals and so I thought if I could make a difference, I will.
“It took me no time to do and it was really fun.”
The Celebrity Paws auction starts at midday on November 20 and will run for 10 days until midday on November 30.
Spokesman for Cats Protection, Louise Waters, said: “This is the eighth year we have hosted our Celebrity Paws auction. Over the years it has attracted fantastic support from famous cat lovers - from Prime Ministers and artists to award-winning actors and TV favourites, and we expect this year to be just as popular.
“Each paw is signed by the celebrity and is completely authentic. As with previous years, we expect these unique artworks will really get people bidding and raise some vital funds for unwanted cats and kittens.”
The auction is being run through Ebay and interested bidders are invited to log on to view the full list of paw prints at www.cats.org.uk/celebrity-paws from the day of the auction.
