A CARE home is celebrating after an independent website named it one of the best in the region.
Fazakerley House, in Prescot, achieved the rating of being highly recommended by families on the website carehome.co.uk
The Market Street facility gained an overall score of 9.1 out of 10 on the care home rating website, which allows residents, friends and relatives to give scores on a number of aspects of life at the care home.
Ratings are submitted based on areas including quality of care provision, cleanliness and value for money.
Care centre manager Hilary Hughes said: “We pride ourselves on the high level of care and support we provide, not only for our residents, but for their loved ones as well.
“This news is fantastic recognition for our staff team, who work so hard day in day out for the benefit of our residents. It’s a fantastic achievement to be highly recommended by the people you care for and it means a lot to us personally.”
Run by Meridian Healthcare, Fazakerley House provides residential care, including support for those suffering from dementia, for up to 45 people.
The home’s achievements have also been acknowledged by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), passing all five of its key criteria during its last inspection in July 2014.
Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We are really pleased that Meridian Healthcare has encouraged so many people to send in reviews of their care homes. Meridian Healthcare has achieved an average score of 9.1 and has 435 reviews across its 30 care homes.
“Reviews are crucial in giving families and friends a true picture of a care home and are a vital tool in helping people to choose the right home for their loved ones.”
