COUNCIL chiefs have launched a 2012 tea dance programme at St Helens Town Hall on Thursday, May 10.
The themed-event celebrates this hugely important royal year in real street party style - complete with Union Jack bunting, staff in themed costumes and a special showing of the Coronation.
With live music from host and compere Alf Christinson, it’s a chance for everyone to practice their ballroom, sequence and olde tyme routines - or simply to enjoy the entertainment, a friendly chat and a great cup of tea!
St Helens Town Hall has hosted tea dances for decades - and is the perfect
setting for an afternoon of socialising, live music and dancing.
Lorraine Simpson, strategic events and support services manager at St Helens Council, said: “Our tea dances are a popular way for local people of all ages and walks of life to come together, dance and have fun.
“Our themed events this year take in the fun of the seaside, the bygone splendour of Victorian tea rooms, a special wartime commemoration event and our popular festive celebration.”
Tickets priced £3 from 01744 675492.
