Boy, 12, hit by car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy aged 12 was hit by a car on Marshalls Cross Road in St Helens.

The youngster is believed to have been on his way home from school at around 3pm on Thursday when the incident occurred.

A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said the victim suffered injuries to his arms and pelvis.

He was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the driver of the vehicle involved had stopped at the scene and was helping officers with enquires.
