A ST Helens woman has admitted benefit fraud.

Katherine Hogan, of Langtree Street, St Helens, pleaded guilty to three offences of failing to notify St Helens Council and the Department for Works and Pensions of a change in her circumstance.

It meant she was wrongly paid more than £10,000 in housing benefit, council tax benefit and income support.

She was ordered to serve a 120 hour community order and pay costs of £85. She is also required to pay back the overpayment in full. To report benefit fraud call 0800 953 0217.
