HIGH-flying ALEX Graham is off to Oxford.
The former Rainhill High pupil will study law at the Lady Margaret Hall, where former students include Nigella Lawson, Michael Gore, Anne Widdecombe and Benazir Bhutto.
Alex was the originator, leader and chairman of St Helens Intra School Council. which served as an opportunity from all local high schools to come together to raise issues and set an agenda for young people throughout St Helens.
Alex attended St Ann’s Primary, Rainhill High School and Rainhill Sixth Form Centre.
At A-level he achieved an A* in Government and Politics, and A’s in Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics.
He was head boy at Rainhill High School and chairman of Rainhill’s School Council.
Alex’s ambition is to become a barrister and then go into politics.
John Pout, Rainhill High School headteacher, said: “Alex is a young man with tremendous leadership skills.
“He is very intelligent, creative and determined. I am delighted he has got into Oxford; Britain needs people of his talent at the top in this country. We are very proud of him and wish him well.”
