A musical concert raised more than £2,000 for Willowbrook Hospice.

Long term Willowbrook supporter Frank Mernagh organised the Grand Easter Concert, which was compered by Graham Connolly, with accompaniment from Rachael Fright.

The concert featured local soprano, Lynn Jones, classically trained tenor Tom Loughlin as well as Haydock Male Choir and the Rainford Ladies Choir.

The concert raised £2,243.50 for Willowbrook Hospice.

Frank said: “It’s always a pleasure to help raise funds for Willowbrook. The hospice is such a fantastic place and the staff there do an amazing job of supporting and caring for seriously ill people in our community.”

Nichola Saunders, head of fund-raising at Willowbrook Hospice, said: “On behalf of Willowbrook, I’d like to express my sincere thanks, not only to Frank, but to the singers and musicians, the volunteers and everyone who attended such a wonderful event. The money raised from the concert will enable us to continue to care for people in St Helens and Knowsley who have life limiting illnesses.”
