friday, november 4: The Helen Marie Charity holds a fashion show at Bon Marche from 2pm. There will be a raffle and refreshments, with all proceeds going to poorly local children.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5: St Helens Council’s fantastic free ’Spark in the Park’ firework display will be lighting up the night skies. The fun-for-all-the-family event gets under way at 6.15pm with a brand new children’s firework display – and ends with the spectacular main display - choreographed to music - at 7pm. Throughout the evening a family funfair will also be operating - open from 5pm until 9pm. Car parking, costing just £3 per vehicle, will be available at Sutton Leisure Centre, Sherdley Park and Lea Green Train Station.

saturday, november 5: Seneley Green Carnival Working Group hold a table top sale at The Village Club, Bolton Street, Downall Green, between 10am and 1pm. saturday, november 5: Come along to Rainford Parish Hall for a bacon buttie and brew and support the Friends of Rainford High’s coffee morning from 10am till noon in Rainford Parish Hall. Entrance is 50p and the first drink and biscuits are free. There will also be bric a brac stall, book stall, cake stall, and a raffle.

saturday, november 5: The Haydock Community Bonfire and Fireworks display will be held at St Marks Centre in Park Street, Haydock, with doors opening at 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.45pm and the impressive fireworks display at 7.15pm. Tickets will be on sale on the night. Prices are £2.50 for adults, £1 for children or £6 for family (up to two adults and two children)

tuesday, november 8: St Helens Multiple Sclerosis Society holds its social meeting at St Julie’s Church Hall, Villiers Crescent, off Howards Lane, Eccleston, from 7.30pm. There will be a hot pot supper plus a talk by St Helens Law.

friday, november 18: The Helen Marie Charity hold a barn dance with The Fumblers at St Mary’s Club, Trent Road, Billinge, from 7.30pm. Hoe down dress encouraged. Hot pot and apple pie will be served. Tickets priced £8 from 01744 734155 or 0772 4995298.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27: The 8th St Helens Scout Group officially opens its new headquarters in St Nicholas Church, New Street, following by a talk in the HQ.
