HAYDOCK Park is turning into a House of Fun this summer.

Legendary band Madness have been revealed as the first of three acts who will perform at the racecourse’s music nights this year.

Fronted by Suggs, they will be performing their classic hits at the racecourse on Saturday, July 20 as part of their Oui, Oui, Si, Si, Ja, Ja, Da, Da UK tour.

The band said: “A day at the races, British summer time, sounds suitably nutty to us!”

Tickets are now on sale at and by telephone on 0844 579 3006.

The concert is predicted to be a sell-out because, 35 years on from their formation, the band is as popular as ever with their legions of followers who adore hits such as Baggy Trousers and Must Be Love.

Madness follow in the footsteps of other top acts like Simply Red, the Scissor Sisters, JLS and Sir Tom Jones who have graced the racecourse in the last few years with audiences of more than 10,000 people on each occasion.

John Baker, regional director of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “Haydock Park’s series of Saturday music nights after racing has got better year after year, and the crowds keep returning in ever bigger numbers.

“Madness are hugely popular and we are delighted to have been able to book such a legendary band for one of our three music nights of 2013.

“It is going to be a fantastic evening of horse racing and music, and I’m sure many thousands of the band’s fans will be with us on July 20.”

The acts for the two other music nights - on Saturdays, June 22 and Friday, August 9 - at Haydock Park are still to be announced.

Tickets, which include both the evening’s horse racing and the Madness concert, plus free parking, are now on sale.

Bookings can be made online at, by telephone on 0844 579 3006 or in person at Haydock Park Racecourse.
