A PLAY written by two ex-cabbies poking fun at the escapades of a night shift worker is coming to St Helens.
Night Collar – starring DJ Kev Seed – is at the Theatre Royal from Monday, December 5 to 8.
Tony Furlong and Jimmy Power’s festive cracker of a comedy takes place on Christmas Eve – and it comes with an adult-only warning.
It follows Seed’s antics as he attempted to survive the night shift on Christmas Eve.
Seed, who also starred in the Ciggie Run at the Theatre Royal, said: “I was thrilled to be asked to perform the role of the cabbie in Night Collar again.
“I love Tony Furlong and Jimmy Power’s writing, it still makes me laugh even after performing the show so many times.
“I’m also performing in Aladdin at St Helens Theatre Royal this December, so it’s going to be interesting to be swapping between the cabbie and PC Noodle on the same day, hope I don’t get mixed up and think that I’m still a Chinese Policeman when I’m supposed to be a cabbie in St Helens town centre!”
Producer and Theatre Royal general manager Chantelle Nolan said: “Here at St Helens Theatre Royal, we’re committed to bring fantastic pieces of theatre, whether that is new writing or old favourites to the local people.
“I’m delighted to be bringing this hilarious play back to the theatre this Christmas.
“It’s always so well received by audiences and we always get comments from customers telling us that it’s one of the best nights out they’ve ever had.
“I’m particularly proud of this cast and know that both they and the audience are going to have a lot of fun!”
Night Collar also stars Daniel O’Brien (The Salon, Rita, Sue & Bob Too), Lynne Fitzgerald (The Salon, Liverbirds), Lenny Wood (The Sinking of The Laconia) and Jodie Nesbitt (The Ciggie Run).
