RAINFORD’S first-ever 10k road race is set to be held later this year in memory of a teenager who died in tragic circumstances.
The inaugural BeUrBest Rainford 10k road race takes place on Sunday, October 6, with runners competing for the George Faulkner Memorial Trophy.
The 17-year-old (pictured) died after he was hit by a car while crossing the East Lancs Road in Windle in October 2008.
Organisers say the race will start and finish at Rainford High Technology College. To register complete the application form online at www.beurbest.org/rainford10k.php priced £15 before September 23.
