A tutor at St Helens College has seen his photographs of Liverpool’s famous Giants puppets picked for inclusion in a special book.
Theatre and performance tutor Ian Greenall, from Eccleston, was one of a million visitors invited to submit their photos of the Giants’ return to Liverpool earlier this year.
The photography enthusiast’s efforts have since been chosen to feature in the new book On The Shoulders Of Giants, which was launched at St George’s Hall last week.
Ian, 41, was one of 21 amateur photographers whose work was chosen to feature alongside the compositions of professional photographers commissioned to photograph the highly-anticipated event.
It marked a double success for Ian too, as he also wowed judges in a nature and wildlife photography competition organised by Wild Arena.
More than 1,100 photos were submitted from across the country, but it was Ian who was chosen as the winner in the best picture category.
He said: “In my job, creativity is key and in my spare time, I have a real passion for photography as I believe photographs are such a powerful communication tool.
“I’m very proud to be representing St Helens through the selection of my photographs. It has been excellent for my work to be recognised in two top competitions.”
