ISABELLE Wood (pictured) is on the cusp of pop success – just 18 months after she first took up singing.
The 15-year-old impressed judges at the Open Mic competition with her rendition of Demi Lovato’s Skyscraper.
She is now preparing to perform in the regional final in Manchester on Sunday, December 4.
If she is successful there she will go through to the national final at the O2 Arena in London.
Winners of the competition are given a recording contract and a chance to forge a musical career.
The De La Salle pupil’s proud family, of Villiers Crescent, Eccleston, will be in the audience to support the talented teen.
“We all really proud of her – not least because she only really started singing in the last 18 months,” said dad Neil, 55.
“She has already got through two rounds. The first was an acappela version but then she was given the option of singing with a backing track or a live band.
“It was her first time doing either so she chose a backing track. The family are all really proud.
“And however she gets on at the next stage, we will still be just as proud.”
