Get fit for free at the Park Farm Centre

Are you female and want to get fit for free? Then get down to the Park Farm Centre for their brand new ladies fitness sessions.

Run by St Helens Council’s Sports Development team, the sessions will take place every Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

Newton-le-Willows Gardeners Association

The last meeting of the year for the Newton-le-Willows Gardeners Association, will be held on Thursday, October 29 at 7.30pm. The venue will be the Newton Sports (& Cricket) Club on Crow Lane East as usual.

The speaker will be Phil Dunnett of Ribblesdale Nursery in Woodplumpton, who will be demonstrating ‘how to prune’, particularly fruit.

There will also be a raffle, plants for sale and all are welcome to attend, whether members of the Association or not. There is no admission charge.

Newton Social Club is hosting a ‘80s Night with Nick Morley on Thursday, October 29 at 7.30pm, with fancy dress optional, and tickets, priced £4 are available from the club.

Swampstompers Unplugged

If you’re a fan of live acoustic music in relaxed surroundings, then check out Swampstompers Unplugged at The Rendezvous Bar in Church Street, St Helens on Friday, October 23. Eric Burke (vocals, harmonica) and Baz Dooley (vocals, guitars, mouth bow) will host an evening of acoustic blues, field hollers and contemporary favourites at one of the town’s most welcoming music venues. Why not give your ears a treat while you imbibe your favourite tipple ? The evening will run from 9.30pm till late and admission is free.
