WHO said festive spirit was a thing of the past?
We may still be in November, but the finishing touches are already being applied to an extra-special Christmas Festival in Rainford.
Set to take place between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, December 17, Rainford Village’s Christmas Festival will feature a host of festive treats.
The Rainford Band is set to play a string of Christmas favourites on Church Road throughout the event and there will also be a mulled wine stall, roast chestnut stall, mince pie stall and homemade cake stall.
Other attractions are set to include a children’s roundabout – provided by fairground experts Silcocks – and a tombola and a raffle, with prizes set to be donated by kind-hearted local shopkeepers and businesspeople.
There will also be the chance for local youngsters to see Santa Claus riding in on his sleigh!
The event has been organised by estate agent David Davies, newsagent Chris Houghton, florist Wendy Downey, Councillor David Grice and Joel Wood, of the Rainford Round Table.
What’s more, all the proceeds from the event are set to be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support – a cause close to many people’s hearts.
