A St Helens woman has raised more than £1,000 by holding a memory walk.
Julie Harrison was joined by friends, family and neighbours for the walk which saw them set out from St Patricks Social Centre in Newton-le-Willows on September 5 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
They walked around Earlestown and through Mesnes Park and back to the Griffin Pub which provided hotpot and sandwiches for the walkers.
Julie said: “I was inspired to do the memory walk because my mum Margaret was diagnosed with the horrible and cruel disease seven years ago.
“We raised £1,356 in total, £557 was collected in buckets on the walk, £715 In sponsorship and £84 in a cake stall at Lyme Community School.
“I would like to thank everyone that put there hands in there pockets and gave money.”
