Four residents in Rainford have had an exciting end to their weekend after their postcode, WA11 8DP, won People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize on Sunday.
The Pine Dale neighbours have all scooped £30,000 each thanks to the win.
Both Stephen Curd, 57, a company director of an electronics business, and his partner Paula Zullo,54, an office manager, play with one ticket each, meaning they scooped an incredible £60,000 combined.
Stephen said they were both delighted with their windfall: “It’s still sinking in – we’ve never won anything before! It’ll be lovely to be able to relax over Christmas and not have to worry about the extra expense.”
The couple have four children between them, with one tying the knot last month and two due to get married next year.
Stephen said: “This couldn’t have come at a better time with two weddings on the horizon. We’ll be able to help the children out and maybe treat ourselves too! I think a nice holiday next year will be on the cards.”
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt presented Paula and Stephen with their cheques and passed on her congratulations: “I’m thrilled for our winners this weekend - what a great start to December for Paula and Stephen. It sounds like they’ll be having a great 2019 with two weddings and holidays to enjoy!”
The other two winners were not available to receive their £30,000 cheques, however the money will be paid into their bank accounts.
With a minimum of 32 per cent from every ticket going to charity, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have now raised £361 million for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
