Miners marched for fair pay
Taken from the Reporter archives, this fantastic photo shows miners from Bold Colliery striking in 1975.
Carrying megaphones and a huge banner saying “Unity is Strength”, the marching miners agreed industrial action over fair pay and conditions.
Coal workers leaders eventually agreed a 35 per cent pay rise, despite Arthur Scargill claiming “much more could have been obtained”.
