Bleakhill is an English alternative rock band formed in St Helens in early 2009.

The band are headed by Kevin Ion (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Chris Makin (lead guitar, backing vocals) from the ashes of their first band The Shims.

They are joined by Michael Taylor (bass) and Ronald Vose (percussion, backing vocals). Their sound is described as “atmospheric and catchy sound” and has been compared to that of REM and The Smiths.

And they already secured air time on XFM and Radio Republic, winning positive reviews from the likes of Martin Coogan, former Mock Turtles singer-songwriter, who hailed Bleakhill as a band “on their way to the top” and a boasting “thoughtful lyrics and quality song writing ... their great live performances shouldn’t be missed”.
