Pictured are old-time Saints stars Jim Stott (left) and Harold “Ike” Fishwick, who earned a joint benefit in 1949. Both served in the Second World War.
Skipper Jim won international honours and became a Knowsley Road icon with 63 tries and 290 goals.
He worked for UGB and Ike for the local council.
Hooker Fishwick’s brother Bill also played for Saints, as did Stott’s sibling Tom.
