St Helens Theatre Royal’s festive pantomime Peter Pan smashed the venue’s box office records.
Dreams really did come true as the show, starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Brian Fortuna, became the biggest and most popular panto ever to take place at the theatre.
More than 30,000 children and grown-ups enjoyed the Corporation Street venue’s critically-acclaimed brand of pantomime magic over the Christmas period.
Peter Pan, which ran for 53 performances from December 6 through to January 12, built on Regal Entertainments’ reputation for taking classic fairytales and giving them an extra-special St Helens twist.
Theatre manager Chantelle Nolan said: “We always pride ourselves on delivering the very best seasonal shows and our Christmas pantomimes have become the area’s must-see event of the year.
“Peter Pan did extraordinarily well and is the top-selling panto we’ve ever presented! I think we’ll have our work cut out trying to top this one... but we’re definitely up for the challenge. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve which we think will make our 2014 show an even bigger success!”
A new Easter pantomime tradition is also building at the theatre with plans already in place for this coming Easter.
From April 11-21 Snow White and the Seven Dwarves will be on show.
Tickets are on sale now.
