Saints went two points clear of Leeds Rhinos at the top of the engage Super League following this comprehensive victory over Harlequins.
It was veteran hooker Kieron Cunningham who provided the impetus as Saints ran in eight tries and coach Mick Potter said: "I thought Keiron turned in another really good display today.
"But then again I cannot remember a time since I came here that he has produced anything other than a quality performance."
St Helens ran in six first-half tries with Tom Armstrong the first to cross in the corner, and Tony Puletua helping himself to a brace.
Further tries before the interval came from James Graham, Kyle Eastmond and Leon Pryce as the visitors cut the home defence to ribbons seemingly at will.
After the break, Saints eased off and Harlequins ran in four scores of their own - from Gareth Haggerty, Chad Robinson, Danny Ward and Matt Gafa.
Despite a sixth successive defeat, Quins coach Brian McDermott said: "I am still 100 per cent confident that we will make the play-offs.
"The players are a very strong group and there is no problem with the attitude.
"But we will be getting players back next week so there is no need to panic."
