St Helens coach Mick Potter admits sparks could fly in tonight's Grand Final - but his job is to ensure nothing gets out of hand.
Saints are preparing to tackle rivals Leeds in the engage Super League's Old Trafford showpiece for a third successive year with scores to settle after losing the last two.

Memories of the sides' last encounter five weeks ago - a fractious affair at Headingley won by Leeds with two Ryan Hall tries - are also fresh in the mind.

Potter said: "That was a pretty intense match.

"We will need to keep our heads down and really stay disciplined and determined in what we do.

"There may possibly be a bit of that (ill-discipline) but if you get distracted by that sort of thing you lose focus.

"I will be instilling discipline and we can't afford to be distracted."
Potter took charge at Knowsley Road at the start of this season after leaving Catalans Dragons to succeed the hugely successful Daniel Anderson.

The Australian had impressed by guiding the French side to the 2007 Challenge Cup final and third place last year but he found the lure of big-stage regulars Saints too good to refuse.

Potter said: "You come here for the big matches, that is the reason you do it.

"You do get a buzz week to week but these are the occasions you want to be involved in.

"This season has been a great experience. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first arrived but the players have been fantastic. They have been great to coach.

"They're always looking to get better and never rest on their laurels.

"It's been a long season - 27 rounds plus cup games and play-offs - and we're glad to have made it.

"It's taken a lot of hard work from the players but we've just got one more now and are hopeful and pretty determined."
