Saints record in the south of France since Catalans Dragons were admitted to Engage Super League in 2006 is far from impressive
And boss Mick Potter has warned that they will need to be firing on all cylinders at the weekend to bring home the points and improve on their existing three wins from five visits.

No one is better equipped than Potter to pinpoint the pitfalls and dangers facing clubs who have to quickly adjust to foreign surroundings and then deal with the intimidating and rarefied atmosphere generated by fans in the 12,000 capacity Stade Gilbert Brutus, having been coach of the Perpignan club from 2006-2008 before moving to St Helens.

He said: "The Dragons have had a bad start to the new season, losing their opening two away games against Wakefield Trinity and Harlequins, but they are always difficult to beat at home and it will be no different on Saturday night."

Potter added: "It will be their first home game of the season and they will want to impressive their loyal fans. We will need to be at our best to succeed."

Saints, who fly out on Friday, are expected to name a similar 19-man squad to the one selected for last Sunday's trip to Bradford but there are question marks over the fitness of Chris Flannery (shoulder injury) and Keiron Cunningham.

The club skipper missed the trip to Odsal following a family bereavement and he will be left to make his own decision whether or not he travels to France.
