Great Britain winger Ade Gardner took over as Super League's leading tryscorer as St Helens brought Catalans' eight-match unbeaten run to an end on Saturday with a 28-10 victory to leapfrog the French club into second place in the table.
Gardner's 14th and 15th tries of the season, which extended his scoring run in all matches to seven, finally ended the French resistance as Saints showed no mercy to their coach-in-waiting Mick Potter.

It was the sixth successive win in all competitions for Saints but they are still six points adrift of defending champions Leeds, who beat Wakefield 58-12 on Friday night.
